Research allows you to unlock new technologies, advanced unit types, and special operations for your empire.

• Research costs cash and takes time to complete.
• You can only have one active research at a time.
• Some research can be upgraded to higher levels; each level has its own cost and duration. You research the next level by upgrading the same technology.
• Higher levels of a research may require other technologies to also reach a minimum level (e.g. Special Operations level 3 requires Research level 3).
• You can cancel an in-progress research; the cost is not refunded.
